Londoners looking for one-off artworks to give their home a unique edge will be spoilt for choice at this year’s Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair, taking place next Sunday (May 27th) at the Old Truman Brewery in East London.
The one-day art event will see established and up-and-coming artists team up to sell their wares and show off installations made especially for the day itself. The site of the Car Boot, Brick Lane Yard, is perfect for a Sunday stroll around the surrounding food markets and Spitalfields too. Confirmed exhibitors for 2012 include Tracey Emin, Sir Peter Blake, Matt Collishaw and Pam Hogg.
And the ‘car boot’ bit? As with previous years, artists are setting up shop in the boots of classic and vintage cars, where visitors will be invited to browse and chat to them before snapping up anything that takes their fancy. With artworks priced between £10 and £1,000, the fair promises to offer something to suit all budgets.
The Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair takes place on Sunday 27th May at Brick Lane Yard, Corner of Brick Lane and Buxton Street, E1, 12-6pm. Tickets will be available on the door for £3.
