The event was a roaring success as residents from Bearfield, Osborne, Windsor and Thorpe roads gathered together in droves to eat cake, wave flags and celebrate the Queen’s 60 years on the throne.
The Kingston KFH branch is located opposite the station on Fife Road, and the team there have a history of finding ways to support the local community since they opened in 2009:
‘It was fantastic to be sponsoring this celebratory street party,’ said sales manager Lisa de Wit. ‘There was a huge buzz around Kingston about the Jubilee celebration and we were delighted to be a part of it’.
The party offered plenty of entertainment including street dancing, races and ‘Pin the Crown on the Queen’, not to mention the treasure hunts, quizzes and some thoroughly excellent food and wine. And, according to the Vicky the event’s organiser, both kids and adults alike had a right royal time!
‘The aBOWT Diamond Jubilee Street Party was a wonderful community affair that attracted over 300 residents of all ages and was clearly enjoyed by everyone’, she told us. ‘It was a truly great day that would not have been the same without the very generous support of Kinleigh, Folkard and Hayward, we thank them very much.’
Here’s to another ten years and the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee!
