London mapped from memory

Map of London by Stephen WiltshireIn the latest issue of Completely London magazine, we took a look at all things great. In a city of superlatives, we found unrivalled individuality, peerless wisdom and breathtaking vision. As the great bard said, ‘Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.’

Our nominated ‘ambassador for greatness’, Stephen Wiltshire MBE, is an extraordinary artist. He produces incredibly accurate cityscapes just from memory, including this London panorama (part of which is shown above), created in five days after one brief helicopter flight.

His motto? ‘Do the best you can and never stop.’
