Hold the phone – KFH are delighted to announce that the £10k prize winner of their London Primary Schools’ Art Competition 2012 is Little Ealing Primary School.
The prize for the sports-themed competition was judged and awarded by UK triple jump champion Nadia Williams and it was the colourful entry by Year 5 pupil, William White, that scooped the prize. His painting beat off competition from runners up Wimbledon Park Primary School, SW19 and Highfield Junior School, Bromley, both of which were awarded with £2,500 prizes to spend on sports/playground equipment.
During the action-packed prize giving, Nadia Williams demonstrated her personal best triple jump of 13.58m to the awe-struck pupils, a Q&A session was held, pupils were given the opportunity to touch Nadia’s bronze medal from the 2006 Commonwealth Games and dozens of autographs were signed.
The UK triple jump champion presented the school with the £10,000 prize alongside Kinleigh Folkard & Hayward’s regional director, Robert McLaughlin. Nadia said: ‘William’s entry is just fantastic and it was my instant favourite. It’s clear to see the effort that he’s made and I love how he incorporated so many countries with their flags, the central Olympic torch and by mentioning the events. I had a lovely morning visiting Little Ealing Primary School. The sheer delight on the children’s faces was priceless.’
