Could there be any better pairing than beer and a burger – especially if the beer’s been carefully cultivated (or even brewed) at one of London’s best microbreweries? Not according to the all-new Draft House Lordship in East Dulwich, that now offers up big beef and even bigger brews.
Expect juicy burgers and tasty steaks: we liked The Smoke, an 8oz burger with smoked chipotle mayo, house-smoked cheddar and house-cured bacon. Or try the ‘Flat Iron’ steak with a side of puffy, fluffy beer-battered onion rings. Not sure what beer to pair your feast with? The menu suggests the right brew for your meal while friendly staff offer more comprehensive suggestions (the peach Belgian Timmermans is a summer must).
If you fancy finding a London brew that’s a little more than your standard pub draft, we love these other local microbreweries, too. The Camden Town Brewery are passionate about their brewing, and we think you should be too. Stop in for a pint and a Big Apple Hot Dog on a Friday. Or seek out the Kernel Brewery under the arches in Bermondsey for beers based on traditional London brewing recipes. Finally, there’s Battersea’s best brewery Sambrook’s – try one of their Wandle Ales anywhere across London.
