Make New Year’s Eve go with a swing

New Year’s Eve can be a funny evening. Get it right and it can be one of the most memorable nights of the year (or two years if you think about it); get it wrong, however, and you’re in for a miserable – not to mention expensive – start to the New Year.

We pretty convinced none of these soirees will place you in the latter camp though. So get your dancing trousers ready and prepare to party like it’s, erm, 2011. And 2012, obviously.

Bugged Out!
If anyone knows how to throw a wee celebration it is long-running dance music institution, Bugged Out! This year it hits Shoreditch nightspot XOYO, with the hotly-tipped 2 Bears in attendance. And if you still feel like cutting loose the following day, mosey on down to the last-ever Bugged Out! New Year’s Day All-Day-Er at The Old Queen’s Head in Islington.

Prohibition
Flapper dresses and spats at the ready, people. It’s time to get that Boardwalk Empire feeling this New Year’s Eve.

Blitz Party
If we think we’ve got it bad in 2011, just think about partying in 1941, when German bombers were dropping their wares overhead. Now take that spirit into this 40s-inspired shindig (pictured).

Boom Box
If you’re gonna go stylish, glam and electro, Boom Box is the only place to see and be seen.

Gypsy Hotel
So you want a bourbon-soaked, snake charming, rock’n’roll NYE? Why didn’t you just say so – it’s off to Stoke Newington and Gypsy Hotel for you then.
